NEW YORK - May 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Are you interested in meeting early-stage Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists and Crowdfunding experts? If so, skip the Vegas gaming tables and endless buffets and join The Soho Loft and FundingPost’s Vegas event on Thursday, May 2.

More than 200,000 angel investors have invested about $20 billion in start-up companies in the US. The upstart of angel networks, FundingPost, together with The Soho Loft, a pillar in innovative investing events, have been running for the past 12 years, and has 200 angels involved annually in its events.

“We have been introducing the concept of crowdfunding and its industry leaders to both Entrepreneurs and Angels nationwide at our conferences for more than a year,” says FundingPost director Joe Rubin.

At our Vegas event, a panel of investors will focus on Early-Stage Venture Investing. There will be discussions on the hot sectors and trends that Angels  and VCs are looking for when they consider an investment. Hot topics like current deal terms and crowdfunding will be part of the discussions, as entrepreneurs get advice on how to best pitch their ideas to potential investors.

Scott Purcell, founder of the Arctic Island and founding member of the Crowdfunding Professional Association, will be one of the speakers on the Crowdfunding panel. As the crowdfunding industry takes shape, he brings considerable experience in both securities and internet technology; he founded OnAir Networks, raising more than  $40 million in venture capital, and started several ventures, including a search-engine wholesale business, a family tree and journaling website, and a niche social network.

Joseph Barizonsi, Co-founder and CEO of Community Leader Inc., and Mike Dinan, President and CEO of Dinan Company, will join him in the crowdfunding panel.

Dominic Marrocco, founder of Entrepreneuria, will give the keynote address while Patrick Armstrong, analyst at Canal Partners; Jack Porter, foudner and Managing Director of Forward Accelerator; Ian McNeil, Angel Investor at Vegas Valley Angels; and, Rick Gibson of Hot Ventures, complete the VC and Angel Investors panel.

Over cocktails, before and after the panel, the participants will have plenty of time for informal networking with the investor panelists. An optional Pitching Workshop Lunch will provide tips for constructing a clear, brief, winning pitch; at the end, attendees can describe their company in a quarter-page profile to the investor speakers.

The Soho Loft Chairman David Drake predicts that “we will see distribution networks like FundingPost become major players, and many will want to partner with them in our 25 leading VC and Angel events each year.”
