Film Skillet – The Perfect Place to Promote Your Independent Films

LOS ANGELESE, Calif. - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Film Skillet, an international community of filmmakers and enthusiasts, promotes quality independent films from around the world. The Film Skillet library includes films from five continents showcasing a vast array of cultures and languages, which means that no matter where you’re from, there is always something good to watch.

Founded by Santa Barbara residents Jeremy Norris and Taylor Frees in 2008, Film Skillet features more than 700 movies and has more than 5,000 registered viewers. All of these films were created by independent filmmakers who have the freedom to work without the industry restrictions placed upon big studios. Independent filmmakers have the ability to tell the story with passion and in their own words.

This winter, Film Skillet partnered with Finite Films to produce their first four-part web series, Anamnesis, in which characters face the mysterious question, “If life is a dream, when do you wake up?” The web series is based off of the short film of the same title which can be found at http://www.filmskillet.com/films/588-anamnesis. Part one of the web series is expected to be released sometime in June 2013.

Film Skillet promotes filmmakers through their contests and film festivals. Cash, prizes and a beautiful custom plaque are awarded to the winner of categories such as drama, sci-fi, comedy, documentary, and various animations. This fall Film Skillet will be hosting their first international film festival in Santa Barbara, CA.
