First Annual Adrian Peterson Foundation Bowling Charity Event

STATESBORO, Ga. - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Atlantic Foot and Ankle Specialists is sponsoring a lane at the inaugural "Bowling in the Boro" event to benefit The Adrian Peterson Foundation. The event will take place this Sunday, May 5th at 1pm. The event is being hosted at The Clubhouse, located at 2704 Old Register Rd  Statesboro, GA.  Adrian Peterson will be on hand to sign autographs and greet bowlers.

Adrian Peterson and his wife Angela recently started the Adrian Peterson Foundation at the Institute for Science and Health. The Adrian Peterson Foundation is dedicated to impacting the lives of youth by focusing on programming in the areas of education, speech and language disorders, and Christian values. In 2008, Adrian hosted a free football clinic for more than 300 Chicago youth. The free clinic provided youth the opportunity to work on their football skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork skills, while building self-esteem both on and off the field.

Atlantic Foot & Ankle Specialists is excited to be sponsoring the very first "Bowling in the Boro" event. Practice Manager and GSU Alumni Lucas Renfroe said "We are so happy to be supporting Mr. Peterson's foundation, he has given so much to GSU and Statesboro, and we're happy to help him give back to the community."

Adrian was drafted by the Bears in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He is a versatile running back and special teams player who has had 284 rushes for 1,132 yards (4.0 avg.) and eight touchdowns to go along with 70 receptions for 609 yards (8.7 yards per catch) in his first six seasons in Chicago.
