By: Joe Favorito “From the start we have said our goal is to bring a cross-section of the best current and former gymnastic athletes to the PGC, and the addition of these recent highly successful NCAA stars shows that we are going to have as impressive a lineup as there has been for such a groundbreaking competition,” Dickerson was SEC Freshman of the Year and a 10 time All American for Florida, earning a total of nine NCAA Regional Event Titles, the 2nd highest ever for the Gators. King, a 2008 Olympian for Great Britain is an eight Time All American and was the 2011 NCAA Vault Champion in addition to helping lead UF to their first event title last week in Los Angeles. Zamarripa won the AAI, women’s gymnastics equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, this year and is a 19 time All American. She helped lead UCLA to the 2010 NCAA Championship while winning the vault title that year as well. In addition to the legendary coaches like Svetlana Boguinskaia, a five-time World Champion and three-time Olympic gold medalist, 2008 Olympic All-Around Champion, four time world champion Liukin and three time Olympian Wilson, athletes representing no less than 12 nations will be participating in the event. The U.S. team will also be led by two time Olympian and silver medalist Jonathan Horton, 2012 Olympian Jacob Dalton and six time NCAA champion, Stephen Legendre, with three time World Championship silver medalist Jana Bieger and NCAA Champion Kat Ding among those representing the women. The world team will be led by 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Sam Oldham of Great Britain, five time Olympic medalit (three gold medals) Catalina Ponor, six time Olympian and gold medalist Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan, Brazil 2016 hopefuls Petrix and Jade Barbosa and Daniele and Diego Hypolito, and two time Olympian Anna Pavlova of Russia among others. Moceanu, the youngest member of the legendary “Magnificent Seven” who captured the first-ever U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, will serve as a judge for the event as well. The Pro Gymnastics Challenge was created by Klaus, CEO of International Gymnastics Camp, the world’s premier gymnastics facility. It will be televised as a three-part series on ESPN2 on May 20, 21 and 22.
