INDIANAPOLIS - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- The Society of Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB) is hosting “Early Childhood Nutrition: How to Get Feeding off to a Positive and Healthy Start,” a live webinar on Thursday, May 23 from 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. EDT. The webinar is sponsored by the Dairy Council of California, in partnership with the Orange County Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  The webinar will outline the feeding transition between infancy and toddlerhood, taking into account the dual purpose of optimizing the child’s growth and development while minimizing obesity risk. Presenting during the webinar are Katja Rowell, MD, The Feeding Doctor and Mary Mullen, MS, RD, LDN, from Healthy Eating for Families.

Parents are often misinformed about what to feed their child, confused by conflicting information from various sources, and overwhelmed by many food choices in the marketplace. Beverages are a particular concern as children are transitioning from breast milk or formula and parents are unclear about the best choices for their growing child. This session will equip the nutrition educator with strategies to help parents foster healthy eating habits in their children.

This webinar is free for members of SNEB. Register online at http://www.sneb.org/events/webinars.html. The cost for non-member attendees is $25 and Dairy Council of California will underwrite the cost for the first 200 non-member attendees. Attendees will earn 1 CPE from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
