ScottMadden Releases 2013 Talent Management Survey Highlights

This survey, conducted at IQPC’s Shared Services and Outsourcing Week Conference, addressed what leading practice organizations are doing to manage talent in their shared services organizations (SSOs).

ScottMadden administered the second cycle of its multi-year survey on talent management for shared services during the March Shared Services & Outsourcing Week event. This study captured core practices for attracting, engaging, retaining, and developing top talent. Successful deployment of these talent management practices allow companies to distinguish themselves and provide better value for their customers.

Survey findings were compared to data collected in the first cycle of this survey, conducted in 2012. Regular communication with employees was ranked as the most effective engagement tactic for the second year. Additionally, three-quarters of respondents defined career paths with a mix of horizontal and vertical options most common. By managing talent well, SSOs benefit by having a stable, engaged workforce that has the skills to meet the future needs of the organization.
