Bedales launches Summer School

Bedales School is now taking bookings for its newly launched Summer School to commence in July this year offering adults courses in: contemporary song-writing; creative writing and yoga & wellness.
 
PETERSFIELD, U.K. - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Bedales School is now taking bookings for its newly launched Summer School to commence in July this year offering adults courses in: contemporary song-writing; creative writing and yoga & wellness.

The courses will be led by renowned artists and professionals including author Margaret Stohl who is best known for co-writing the book that inspired the film Beautiful Creatures, which premiered in February featuring actors Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson. Margaret will lead the creative writing course alongside Harvard graduate and award-winning novelist Robin Wasserman.  Contemporary song-writing students will benefit from having Folk musician and actor Johnny Flynn, the band members of Tellison and singer-songwriter and OB Charlie Millar as the tutor team. Inner Yoga Trust Principal Jenny Beeken will lead the Yoga & Wellness course alongside Pilates Foundation trained Emma Cordingley and dietician Paula Wood.

The Summer School will run a comprehensive evenings events schedule for students featuring talks with esteemed guests such as internationally acclaimed dramatist, actor and director Steven Berkoff and author Meg Rosoff who is best known for her novel How I Live now (Puffin 2004) which won the Guardian Prize, Printz Award and the Branford Boase Award, as well as being shortlisted for the Whitbread Awards. Painter and teacher Delli Lycett-Green, who exhibits her work at such places as the Marlborough Fine Art and teaches at the much admired Princes Drawing School is a guest speaker as well as painter, author and architectural enthusiast Matthew Rice; singer-songwriter  and OB Leah Mason and architect Edward Williams.

The speaker programme will be complemented by social events including: a visit to local galleries Chichester and theatres in Winchester; wine and cheese tasting session from local suppliers and a barbecue followed by outdoor Shakespeare on the School’s grounds from The Petersfield Shakespeare Festival.

Courses are open to anyone over the age of 18 with the option of residential (at nearby hotels and bistro B&Bs including Langrish House and The Cricketers in Steep) or non-residential. All courses cost £599 this includes teaching, materials, lunch, supper and all evening events (excluding accommodation).
