This firstofits Executive and Founding Music Director Liza Grossman is responsible for inspiring and assembling the show. “Bootsy Collins is a full power music machine who brings energy unlike any other artist to every stage on which he performs.” Because of the intimate nature of the venue, audience members will experience a truly upclose look at Bootsy in one of his increasingly rare performances. Additionally, this is the first time Bootsy has collaborated with an orchestra. Grossman adds, “The orchestrations for this show dig deep into the intricate folds of funk music, enhancing the artistic power that is already present. CYO is ready to take it to the stage with this funk legend.” Contemporary Youth Orchestra is the recognized national leader in forwardthinking and creative programming. CYO currently holds the first place ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming. Contemporary Youth Orchestra’s previous Rock the Orchestra collaborations have welcomed STYX, Jon Anderson, Graham Nash, Pat Benatar, and Jefferson Starship.
