First Introduced at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the 2014 QX60 Hybrid will use essentially the same powertrain as the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid. That powertrain will consist of a new supercharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine paired with a 15 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. Combined output comes in at 250 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. It will also feature an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission, or CVT. The CVT boasts a nearly infinite number of gear ratios, allowing for seamless shifting and exceptionally smooth driving dynamics.
Perhaps the most exciting part of this powertrain is the fact that it will allow the 2014 QX60 Hybrid to achieve best-in-class city/highway combined fuel economy—25 mpg city/27 mpg highway/26 mpg combined. Technologies such as regenerative braking help the vehicle achieve such stellar numbers. The QX60 Hybrid will retail for $3,000 more than the non-hybrid edition, and the 24% increase in fuel economy makes it well worth it.
Impressive spaciousness is a hallmark of the new QX60 Hybrid; it boasts room for seven passengers across three rows of seating. Unlike some hybrid vehicles, the new QX60 hybrid doesn’t sacrifice any of the spaciousness, comfort, or luxury of the standard QX60. That means that, like the standard edition, it also features a striking, elegant design, sporting glowing lines and beautiful curves in an impressive combination of form and function.
The team at Infiniti of Hoffman Estates is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to offer the 2014 QX60 to drivers in Naperville and the rest of Chicagoland.
