NEW YORK - April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Belvedere is based loosely on a real historical figure, a young Frenchman who took part in the Fedon Revolution in Grenada in 1795, joining the men of colour in their armed struggles against the British ruling class.

Set in the Caribbean, the novel tells the story of Pierre Alexis, a young idealist from Toulouse, who dreams of migrating to the French Antilles. Instead, he finds himself in Grenada, where rivalry between the French and British over who controls the island has reached a boiling point. Amid the tense atmosphere, an uprising led by French-speaking “free coloureds” breaks out.

Inspired by the French Revolution, the former slaves take up arms against the ruling classes. Pierre is sympathetic to the men seeking liberty, equality, and freedom. Sharing their revolutionary spirit, he joins them to rebel against the English. This stunning story was written to honor the real man, Pierre Alexandre, who sacrificed everything for a worthy cause.
