Former NFL Player and Pastor Miles McPherson to release “God in the Mirror”

of The Rock Church, is going against the grain in his new book, “God in the Mirror:
Discovering Who You Were Created To Be,” releasing from Baker Publishing Group
March 1, 2013. In the book, McPherson encourages readers to think less of themselves
and more about God’s plan for their life.

Engulfed by a popular culture saturated with images of idealized, air-brushed and
unattainable physical beauty, men and women cannot escape feeling judged on
the basis of their appearance and often times forged identity. In “God in the Mirror,”
McPherson addresses the lies Satan uses to lead humans to sin; the obsession with
image, the feeling of worthlessness and the pressure to
follow the ways of society. McPherson explains to readers
how they were created, why they were created, what their
true purpose is, and how to remake themselves according
to God's original plan for their lives.

“Human beings are created in God’s image; if we really
take that truth to heart and live our lives in light of it,
everything changes,” said McPherson, who empowers

Miles McPherson is founder and pastor of Rock Church in San Diego. Prior to that,
following his NFL career, he founded Miles Ahead Ministries, through which more than
45,000 young people have made decisions for Christ. When he started Rock Church in
2000, more than 3,300 people attended on its first day. The predominantly young, urban
congregation has grown to an average of 12,000 with more than 120 ministries, at least
