BERWICK-UPON-TWEED, U.K. - April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- A team from timber window and door manufacturer Allan Brothers helped raise more than £1,200 for Comic Relief when they took part in a charity football tournament last week.

The Allan Brothers squad fought off tough competition from other Berwick companies to reach the final, but narrowly missed out on the top spot to the Simpson Malt team with a score of 2-1.

“It was a valiant effort by the lads, especially in such miserable conditions. Even though we didn’t win, we’re proud to have made it to the final and help raise money for a good cause,” the Allan Brothers team captain said after the match.

Despite the cold weather, ten Berwick-based firms competed in the all day event as part of the General Mills Berwick Health and Safety Week. The tournament at Pier Field saw Allan Brothers beat sides from Ahlstrom, Future Industries/Thorburns and Lee Mark Trade on their way to the final.

Along with team entry fees, organisers also raised funds with stalls and a raffle.
