April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Teesside-based Python Properties and Python Arts are celebrating after being shortlisted in the prestigious national Arts & Business Awards for their corporate responsibility partnership strategy.

The shortlisting to the final three in the Corporate Responsibility category recognises the strategy of property firm Python Properties to install and run art galleries with Python Arts in four of its commercial buildings throughout the North of England and the impact in the community.

The Arts & Business Awards in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover celebrate the finest partnerships between the commercial and cultural sectors across the UK.

Through the galleries Python Arts provides creative opportunities for artists and members of the public to participate and engage in the arts through exhibitions and events.

Despite the tough economic climate the four buildings that the galleries occupy – Cargo Fleet Offices and Royal Middlehaven House in Middlesbrough, Bank Quay House in Warrington, and St George’s House in Bolton - have had roaring success of attracting office tenants.  A feat Python Properties believes is due particularly to its innovative arts concept.

Martin Johnson, partner at Python Properties, said: “We are delighted to announce we have been shortlisted in the highly respected Arts & Business Awards.  To be recognised as one of the top three partnerships in the UK within the corporate responsibility category is a huge achievement and testament to the hard work of the whole team.

“With a strong commitment to regeneration we find that having art galleries within our commercial properties not only increases community enjoyment, experience and involvement in the arts but also helps to attract new tenants to the buildings.”

More than one hundred partnerships entered this year’s Arts and Business Awards, which is part of Business in the Community (BITC) - a member of The Prince’s Charities.

Phillip Spedding, Director of Arts & Business, said: “Our independent panel of judges were incredibly impressed by the quality and breath of all the entries and it is heartening to see the commercial sector continue to support the cultural sector in such well executed and creative ways.  Success, as ever, is achieved through commitment, cooperation and collaboration.”

The partnership will find out if they have won the prestigious corporate responsibility title at a special award ceremony, which will be hosted by Classic FM presenter Margherita Taylor, on May 14th at LS St Luke’s in London.
