Girl with birthmark chosen as a Florida State National American Miss contestant.

 
OCALA, Fla. - April 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Ocala, FL -  Miss Torie Pedrick, age 11, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Florida Pageant to be held July 13th at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL.

Born with a large birthmark on her left cheek, Torie has been bullied and teased for her unique mark. Through her struggle to be accepted, Torie has learned about True Beauty. Now, as a National American Miss State Finalist, she can share her message of "True Beauty". Torie's outgoing personality, friendliness, helpfulness and singing bring out her inner beauty that are unique qualities which everyone around her enjoys. Torie has worked to contribute to the academic standing of her school and is active in the National Elementary Honor Society and has an overall GPA of 3.92. She hopes her journey to share this message will encourage other children to see their own "True Beauty".

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America's future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills.
