WILMINGTON, N.C. - April 25, 2013 - PRLog -- April 25, 2013 –  “The future is here and it starts with what Google Glass explorers are going to create, share, and evolve, if not completely change, the way we interact with others.  To be selected to be one of the few to participate in the Glass Explorer project is a very cool honor.” – Tim Moore (https://plus.google.com/+TimMoore), CrushIQ CEO

(Wilmington, NC) – Google announced recently that both hardware and software for Google Glass is ready to be shipped to just over 7,000 Google “Explorers” across the United States.  Wilmington local technology leader, Tim Moore, CEO of CrushIQ, is one of the lucky few selected to participate in the project.  This beta testing initiative by Google is designed to allow industry leaders the chance to be the first to test-drive Google’s latest technological innovation.  CrushIQ is a local creative digital advertising agency, with expertise in launching and repositioning brands, implementing multi-faceted, interactive strategies, and designing engaging content tailored to each client.  Moore is currently 1 of only 5 Explorers selected in the entire region of the Carolinas

WHAT DOES GOOGLE GLASS DO?

The core of Google Glass is its tiny prism display that sits just about your line of sight; users can see what is on the display by glancing up. The glasses also have an embedded camera, microphone, GPS and, reportedly, use bone conduction technology to generate sound. Voice control is used to operate the device; users simply say 'ok glass' to access a range of options; take pictures or videos, send messages using speech to text, 'hang out' with people, or get directions. Easily access any of these options by saying them out loud. CLICK HERE TO WATCH AN EXAMPLE (http://www.google.com/glass/start/how-it-feels/)

“Hands down, this technology is a game changer and is going to be more significant and advance communication further and faster than the introduction of the iPhone to the mobile phone sector in June 2007.”  Moore continues.

KEEPING UP TO DATE WITH THE GLASS EXPLORER PROJECT

Tim Moore has created a special community on Google+ called Carolina Glass Explorers (https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/11622704144085502...).  This community was started for the First Generation of Google Glass Explorers in the Carolinas, both North and South, to share the latest information on how they are using Glass and how to connect and participate with other Glass projects and initiatives. Community activities will include live video ‘hang outs’ where Glass Explorers will discuss the technology, human communication, the operating system, new applications they, and predictions for the future of Google Glass.  It is free to join and all are welcome.
