City Girl Beauty Project Hosts Cocktail Fundraiser To Empower Survivors Of Domestic Violence

NEW YORK - April 25, 2013 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY (April 24, 2013) – City Girl Beauty Project, a nonprofit organization that empowers young women who struggle with low self-esteem, loss of self-worth and uncertainty as a result of domestic violence (http://www.citygirlbeautyproject.org/) and human trafficking (http://www.givingisglamorous.org/), will host an annual fundraiser benefit at Pepela NY Gallery, 104 East 30th Street @ Park Avenue South, NYC on Thursday, May 2 from 6:15 until 10 p.m.

The cocktail event premieres a silent and LIVE auction in efforts to raise more than $100,000 to benefit the organization’s Heroic Beauty Workshop to commence in September in New York City.

Generously hosting the event is Emmy award-winning journalist Cathleen Trigg-Jones and TV Personality & Activist Jamie Otis from Hollywood Life.

Tickets (http://citygirlbeautyproject.eventbrite.com/) range from $90 to $150 for VIP options. Guests will enjoy complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, swag bags and mini-makeovers compliments of the City Girl Beauty Bar and more. In addition, there will be a special performance by electric violinist Larenzo Laroc and music by VH1’s DJ Amanda Seales.

The Heroic Beauty Workshop uses beauty and leadership to empower survivors – young women between the ages of 18 and 30 - and reconnect them with their inner beauty, self-worth and natural ability to become leaders. The workshop is facilitated by using the power of colors, makeup artistry, beauty, character building, leadership and self-development skills and challenges.
