Smith Stokes Automotive has local owners with a brand new name…Pace Chevrolet Buick GMC

LEXINGTON, N.C. - April 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Reidsville’s General Motors Dealership is now under new ownership and management.  For years, Smith Stokes Chevrolet Buick GMC was owned and operated by Smith Stokes of Lexington, NC.  Smith took on partners over the years when he expanded his Dodge Chrysler business by adding the General Motors car and truck lines.  Smith would eventually retire from the Reidsville based car dealership, which is now locally owned and operated.  The new name of the dealership is PACE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC,…”where you’re always a winner.”
Dealer Operator Ben Quattrone took over Smith ownership in May 2010.  Ben worked for General Motors Corporation for 8 years and has operated several large GM dealerships over the past 15 years.  He took on the floundering dealership after Chrysler pulled out and kept Smith Stokes on as a salesperson for the past 3 years out of respect for what he had started.  Smith retired in early March 2013.  His long-time assistant Michelle Garrison of Reidsville will continue to be a “facilitator” of sales and service at PACE CHEVROLET.  Michelle is really at the command center of our customer service operation.  Moving forward Michelle will continue to cater to Smith’s loyal following because she always handled the logistics anyway.
With so many dealers not making it out of the mess a while back they struggled with getting the people of the surrounding area to understand that they are still there serving the community with new and used cars and trucks as well as operating a large parts and service department.  That’s why they changed the name to PACE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC.  “We felt that the people of Rockingham County and surrounding areas needed and would support a fresh start, said Geoff Doucette, General Sales Manager.   “Our hope is that our local market continues to support us the way we support the community.  We shop here, eat at local restaurants and make sure to keep our business local.  We hope the folks in this community will do the same.”
