SOUTH PETHERTON, U.K. - April 24, 2013 - PRLog -- The BMF South West has announced the dates for its annual Try A Boat Free event, part of the BMF ‘On the Water’ campaign.  Last year over 350 people took to the water in a variety of boats from yachts and luxury launches to high speed RIBs.
When?: The event will take place on Saturday 25th May to Sunday 26 May from 10.00hrs to 16.00hrs

Where?: South Embankment, Dartmouth by the Lower Ferry

Cost?: Free for the public to try a boat. Free to exhibit (for fully paid up BMF Members)

For BMF members and businesses: You can be involved either as a free exhibitors (if fully paid up BMF member) or at a small costs for non-BMF members.  We want as many boats, products and services on show to help get more people out on the water.

For the general public: The event is entirely free and is open to all ages (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). To book your place you need to come to the reception unit on the Embankment, book a time slot and complete a short Safety Form. All the boats are skippered by qualified or professional yachtsmen. You will be provided with lifejackets and the skipper will provide a short safety briefing before you head off. Depending on weather and tides each trip can be between 20 minutes and an hour. Experts are available throughout both days to discuss with you about buying and owning a boat or answer your questions.

How do I book?: Just turn up on the day, come to the reception desk and book an available time slot

Do I need anything?: No, just come sensibly dressed, waterproofs are an idea for faster rides and sensible, non slip shoes are essential for all rides please

The event is organised by the BMF South West in association with South Devon Marine and we are delighted that South Devon College and Ribeye Ltd are event sponsors for 2013

Other shore-based exhibitors include Darthaven, Ribeye and Boatshed Dartmouth. Experts are available throughout both days to discuss with you about buying and owning a boat or answer your questions. Dartmouth Yacht Club will be open all day to provide refreshments and if required meeting areas.
