Musq Cosmetics New Organic Event

High tea and garden parties don't normally conjour up thoughts of  'green', organic and environmentally friendly events, but last weekend Musq Cosmetics showcased at a unique event that an organic lifestyle can be as glamorous as any.

In a stunning garden setting where vegetables and herbs pop up between the roses and fox-gloves Australian Musq Cosmetics held a high tea party with a significant difference.  As guests moved between the various outdoor and indoor areas they saw and experienced how a ‘greener’ ethical lifestyle is seamless with a modern and glamorous one.

Enjoying Certified Organic and fair-trade teas made with filtered water, home baked biscuits, cakes and other goodies, guests were able to try and buy a variety of new and boutique Australian lifestyle products all beautifully packaged and with environmentally responsible and healthy features.  Whether products were Certified Cruelty Free, made from recycled materials, fully natural ingredients or free range,  the event demonstrated that adopting a green and ethical lifestyle was delicious, glamorous and easy. So gorgeous that they can sit proudly on display in the kitchen or bathroom rather than be hidden away.

Makeup artists were also on hand to treat guests from the media, beauty industry, models and V.I.P.’s to organic make-overs with skincare and makeup. Haircare and styling products were available for attendees to trial. The non-toxic goodie bags included organic samples from Teilka Tea to TOM feminine hygiene and a clever purse size ingredient checklist to use when shopping. The entire event showed great attention to detail, from all natural and bio-degradable washing up liquid to recycled paper toilet tissue, garden composting, water tank and solar heating.

Guests learned how to avoid greenwashed and passive products. “Often marketing suggests products are natural when they’re still made mainly with synthetic ingredients so it’s important to know what to look for. There’s no benefit in substituting one toxic cosmetic cocktail with another!” Said co-owner  Emma Reid.

“We encourage purchase of local brands and multiple product features for the best value for money. For example all Musq products are undiluted and multi-tasking which minimizes the need for complicated rituals, additional products and a higher financial outlay. Buying local product supports local industry and jobs, and lowers the transportation footprint.”

The Musq mantra of "guilt free indulgence" resonated with guests, who purchased a broad variety of products and asked for more such events to be held regularly.
