What is Ultraguard Hi-Build Epoxy Coating?

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- What is Ultraguard Hi-Build Epoxy exactly & how does an Ultraguard Pool become so strong? Ultraguard Hi-Build Epoxy is a 2 part epoxy, part 1 being the resin and part 2 being the hardener. Hi-Build Resin is the purest part of oil or alcohol refined to its purest and best parts (our resin is made from plants where as most are petroleum based).The hi-build resin (part 1) is made from Soybeans from a patented process that creates the hi-build resins. While the hi-build hardener (part 2) is made from nuts and without any solvents or volatile organic compounds (almost all hardeners have these in them).

The hi-build hardener is the catalyst, basically the stuff that makes the product chemically react with the resin. This creates a 100% solid polymer coating of up to 16,500 PSI Strength, keep in mind a .38 S&W Special Bullet max pressure after fired is 17,000 to 40,000 PSI. Please do not start firing at your swimming pool to see if its bullet proof all you Ultraguard Pool owners. Now as it reacts thermosetting begins, this is a chemical reaction. This is where all the fun starts and all the good stuff starts happening.  As the hi-build hardener chemically reacts with the hi-build epoxy resin tons of things are going on from thermosetting and other processes. Molecules crosslink (imagine a bunch of metal chains linking together like a net) and titanium molecules begin forming creating an armor like network throughout the coating. Expansion physically and chemically of 2,000 to 2,800 PSI Shear Strength adhesion (most super glue is 700 PSI to 3,300 PSI)  starts securing it to the foundation making it one. Then all the proprietary additives are given the go to get to work. The Microban starts building up a natural molecular barrier (imagine a wall with a bunch of tiny little spikes on it) that penetrates the cell walls of algae and bacteria completely protecting it from microbes. Nanotechnologies & UV inhibitors get to work protecting our proprietary pigments (like an umbrella shading the pigments from the sun) resulting in a protected color that doesn’t fade or chalk.

As all these dominoes fall the hi-build epoxy is spreading all over into every nook and cranny pushing out any oxygen thanks to its self leveling & non-porous properties. All these processes pushing to become 100% solid and a completely interconnected network of cross linked molecules making the entirety of an Ultraguard Pool almost impenetrable. The best part about all this is that it is 100% green so it’s non-toxic and odorless despite all this going on. So this is what happens with our Ultraguard Hi-Build Epoxy to make it 100% green, durable, and long lasting. This is what separates Ultraguard Hi-Build Epoxy & Ultraguard Pools from any other in the market or in the pool industry as the best. Now what happens with those pool paints, rubberized paints and plaster/gunite coatings? They just dry.
