DETROIT - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- On Monday, May 6th at 6:00 p.m., over 300 NASP-Detroit members, supporters and guests will convene to celebrate their highly anticipated event, Encore VII – "Together We Rise!"

The 7th annual awards ceremony and scholarship banquet fundraiser will take place at the grand and historic Detroit Athletic Club located at 241 Madison Avenue, in downtown Detroit. Tickets are $200. The proceeds will go towards scholarships for financially challenged college students of metro Detroit.

This awards ceremony and scholarship banquet fundraiser will also honor five distinguished and well deserving individuals who have made significant contributions or whose work has resulted in making an impactful difference to the financial services industry and community.

This year’s honorees include:          

·     “NEXT.Com” Award – Glenda Gill, Executive Director, Rainbow Push Automotive Summit

·     Measure of Excellence Award –Richard M. Charlton, Chair & Founder of NEPC  

·     “Unsung” Hero Award – Lorenzo Moner, Chairman, Wayne County Emp. Ret. Systems

·     Maverick Award – Chris Jackson, Partner, Queen Lillian Development

·     Legend Award – David Clark, Chair, Detroit General Retirement Systems  

“It is an amazing task for NASP to recognize five of Detroit’s highly notable men and women and award them individually for their countless achievements and years of remarkable service in their respective fields,” says Kathleen Colin, President, Detroit Chapter NASP and Director of Investments, Oppenheimer & Co.          

“Since 2007, the NASP-Detroit/Shafter Terry III Scholarship Fund awarded over $200,000 in scholarship funds to deserving students,” says Colin. Gail Perry-Mason, Senior Director- Investments, Oppenheimer & Co., will serve as one of Encore VII’s event hosts and special guests.  Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, President of the Detroit Branch of the NAACP will be present to serve as one of the evening’s award presenters.  Entertainment provided by Kendrick Jackson.
