COLUMBUS, Ohio - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Columbus, OH: Susan G. Komen’s Regional Vice President, Miguel Perez addresses the Columbus American Marketing Association on May 14, 2013. Perez is Susan G. Komen foundation’s first male leader and will address audiences just days before the city’s Komen Columbus Race for the Cure runs.

The race is the largest wave of pink to wash over central Ohio, bringing 45,000+ people together in support annually. On May 18th, the annual event runs again for the 21st time. Perez is the former president of the board and long-standing volunteer of the Columbus affiliate. In his new role as the Regional Vice President for Susan G. Komen headquarters, Perez will explore his unique set of experiences - including how he turned a tragic situation into something positive; has shaped his success and the non-profits he’s served, and how his volunteering efforts led to his current role.

This event comes at a timely juncture as concerns for safety and calls for overcoming adversity echo across our nation in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing.  The Komen Columbus Race for the Cure represents the one of the largest gatherings of people in Ohio since that tragedy. Especially now, Perez's relentless drive can bring valuable lessons for any audience. Get a glimpse into what motivates the magic behind his success.

Join the Columbus American Marketing Association just four days before the Komen race as Perez shares his story. Key takeaways will include:
• How he found his passion and followed it
• When tragedy and loss come, what can be learned from it?
• How to see (and work) beyond limits
• How he built his team for the Komen Race for the Cure

The event, hosted by the Columbus American Marketing Association, will be held in the Ross Hall/Alumni Auditorium of Franklin University on Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
