Follow on Google News | eSchoolView announces 2013 student scholarship winnerseSchoolView, an education website and software company, awarded eight students across the country scholarships in either web design or web technology.
By: eSchoolView Winners of the national student web design contest, now in its second year, will each receive $5,000, $2,500 or $1,000. Total prize money grew by 50 percent compared to the inaugural 2012 competition for the Columbus, Ohio-based company. Students competed in two categories: web design and web technology. Submissions were graded by a 3rd party panel of education professionals who used an evaluation rubric provided by eSchoolView. "eSchoolView recognizes the important career decisions a student has to make and is willing to do anything to assist with those decisions," Director Rob O'Leary said. "Being a part of education software development for over twelve years, the eSchoolView owners encourage students to express an interest in this field, providing several opportunities to gain first-hand experience." The Web Design Contest was for seniors interested in pursuing graphic design, web design or other arts. Students were required to develop a home page and one interior page for a website. The site needed to be related to a school class or club and reflect a collaborative effort between the “client” and the designer. The Web Technology Contest asked students to develop creative way(s) to use web technology in education. They were encouraged to analyze components of eSchoolView’ The winners are from the following school districts: -Sayreville School District in Parling, NJ -St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, OH -Garland Independent School District in Garland, TX -South Butler County School District in Saxonburg, PA -New Albany Floyd County Schools in Floyd Knobs, IN -Indian Creek Local School District in Wintersville, OH -Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington, KY eSchoolView also awarded scholarships to teachers in client districts who develop and describe creative uses for web technology in education using one or more components of the eSchoolView CMS.
