Song for Heroes needs your help!

GLASGOW, Scotland - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Song for Heroes needs your help!
Song for Heroes 2013 needs your help. It is a nationwide, unsigned song writing competition open to all styles and genres of music raising awareness and funds for Help for Heroes.  The competition final will be held on 15th November at The Park Hotel, Kilmarnock, Scotland.
If you would like to enter a song it has to be original and aimed at raising awareness of our armed services people who have been injured while on duty. Inspiration is the key. All entries shortlisted will be invited to perform their original song plus a song of their own choice to a panel of music experts and armed service personnel and audience at The Park Hotel. The closing date for entries is 31st August 2013.
The prize will be a recording of the winning song to be promoted during 2014 and available for donations on either CD/MP3 format in local Sainsbury’s stores and other outlets including our website. All proceeds go to Help for Heroes.
Eddy Gemmell, the organiser of Song for Heroes says “Last year the competition was open to Ayrshire entrants only but due to the success of last year’s event we have now opened the competition up to the nation. We want as many people as possible to get involved to raise lots of money for Help for Heroes and uncover lots of new song writing talent.”
Last year the Song for Heroes finalists’ age ranged from 14 to 78. The winner was Jane Young, a bus driver for Stagecoach, a complete unknown but now she has the opportunity to not only raise awareness and funds for Help Heroes via her winning song but her own musical career will be supported by Song for Heroes at various events and Help for Heroes. Her song will be launched on Sunday May 12th at Sainsbury’s Prestwick, Scotland.
