CHW Receives Grant to Support Foreclosure Prevention Counseling Efforts

Grant provides much-needed boost to San Diego homeowners in danger of foreclosures.

SAN DIEGO - April 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Community HousingWorks (CHW) announced that it has received $136,440 to support San Diego foreclosure prevention counseling efforts.  The much-needed boost will enable CHW to provide more foreclosure counseling than ever before to area homeowners in danger of foreclosure.

CHW’s Assistance VP of Classes & Coaching says, “This grant will allow CHW to continue and fight alongside struggling homeowners in a critical and pivotal year.  As we begin to see banks implement changes to address the new Homeowner Bill of Rights requirements, it has become that much more critical to work with an advocate; cases will move quickly to resolution and the appeals window is short.  We can help homeowners identify and protect their rights thanks to this funding opportunity.”
The grant to support CHW’s foreclosure prevention counseling efforts was provided by funds from the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program.  The National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program is administered through a competitive application process by NeighborWorks® America, within guidelines defined by Congressional legislation.
