Follow on Google News | “Adults with Aging Parent Drivers” Presentation Offered in Raleigh, North CarolinaKeeping Us Safe is pleased to announce that they are now offering the nationally-recognized “Adults with Aging Parent Drivers” presentation to organizations and businesses in and around the greater Raleigh, North Carolina area.
This presentation is perfect for family members, caregivers and loved-ones of senior drivers. Among other things, this one-hour presentation discusses many of the legal, ethical, and most importantly the emotional challenges faced by a family or professional caregiver when considering a loved-one's retirement from driving. The program is being offered by Lauren Watral, MSW and owner of Raleigh Geriatric Care Management, LLC http://www.rgcmgmt.com. As one of Keeping Us Safe’s certified “Beyond Driving with Dignity” professionals, Watral explains “this presentation was developed to help members of the baby-boomer generation when they become concerned about a loved-one's ability to drive safely as a result of the natural aging process”. Matt Gurwell, CEO of Keeping Us Safe states “In this presentation, we provide a roadmap to help families address this very emotional and delicate issue with tact, compassion, and empathy, so that the older driver's dignity and independence are never unnecessarily jeopardized” In addition, Watral is also available to present Keeping Us Safe’s “A Safe Drive through the Aging Process” program. This presentation is not meant to be another safe-driving or driver-refresher program (seniors have seen them all by now!) but rather it is designed to increase awareness concerning the onset of diminishing driving skills related to the aging process. Watral explains “This presentation takes a direct yet compassionate approach to the very sensitive subject of recognizing that someday it may be time to relinquish some of that treasured driving independence” To learn more about these unique and exciting programs, please contact Lauren Watral at 919-803-8025 or visit the Keeping Us Safe website at www.keepingussafe.org. xxx End
