About the Hurley School:
The Hurley K-8, located at 70 Worcester Street in Boston’s South End, is one of only three dual-language immersion schools in the Boston Public Schools system. This innovative school serves the neighborhood’s racially, ethnically, and economically diverse population with a two-way bilingual program in which native English- and Spanish- speaking students learn together, experiencing the core academic curriculum in two languages, and gaining literacy and fluency in both English and Spanish.

About NPHS:
NPHS is a group of parents and community members working with the Joseph J. Hurley School
to make it one of the best schools in Boston. NPHS supports the school by helping raise funds, developing partnerships with a variety of organizations, and working to bring the Hurley needed resources to enhance the educational experience of its students.  NPHS’s efforts have enabled the school to hire a science specialist and librarian; add music, theater, and dance programs; restore the gymnasium; improve the teachers’ lounge and front office; create a school library; and transform a parking lot into an athletic field.
