GDS International To Host Established Eleventh Next Generation US Utilities Summit in May

Denver, USA – April 22nd, 2013: GDS International will host its eleventh Next Generation Utilities US summit on 13th-15th May 2013 at the five-star Omni Interlocken Resort in Denver, Colorado.

BRISTOL, U.K. - April 22, 2013 - PRLog -- The established event series – which takes place over two and a half days – boasts 65 senior level utilities executives from across North America engaging in peer-led panel discussions, content-rich workshops and thought-provoking keynote speaker presentations.

This year’s event will focus on customer contact channels, eBilling and customer adoption; new standards and technologies to accelerate the adoption of Microgrids; and big data analytics: meter data management and collection. Delegates will also be looking at broader issues, including the intersection of IT and operations technology; integrated distribution management systems to improve reliability and efficiency; and securing resilience with system hardening.

Attending the NG Utilities summit this year will be: Mark Henderson, EVP Asset Management & COO for PowerStream; Rich Rathvon, VP at ConEd; Chris Cantone, SVP Load Response for Constellation Energy; Mike Rowland, Director of Technology Development for Duke Energy; Daniel Brown, Head of IT Operations and Communications Strategy for Xcel Energy; and Charles Dickenson, VP Power Supply for PEPCO.

Dennis Pizzarelli, Next Generation Utilities (http://www.ngusummit.com/) Summit Director for GDS International (http://www.gdsinternational.com/), the global events company behind the summit, said: “As the demand for energy increases, utilities are looking to maximize the potential of their smart grid investments by transforming the massive amounts of data into actionable information. They face new challenges from improved customer engagement and new regulations; and are ultimately looking to modernize an aging infrastructure into a self-sufficient, self-healing intelligent grid to better manage supply, demand, reliability, quality and security.

He continues: “This platform will bring together some of the biggest executives from the most active utilities in the North American market alongside a small number of the most innovative solution providers in the utilities space.”
