Campus Oil Seek Expert 3d Help

BLACKROCK, Ireland - April 23, 2013 - PRLog -- 3rd Dimension Studios were recently commissioned to produce a single, high resolution, high quality, 3D Photomontage of the proposed Campus Oil filling station and it's signage on East Wall Road in Dublin. The main objective of the project was to demonstrate to the planning authorities that the signage in particular had little to no impact on the surrounding environment and the neighbouring building.  It was extremely important for the photomontage (http://www.3rddimension.ie/3d-visualisation-services/3d-architectural-visualisation/) to be an accurate representation of what the filling station and signage will look like when built and from this end, 3rd Dimension Studios worked very closely with the project engineers and signage company ensuring that what they modelled and visualised in 3D was accurate in terms of design, scale and position.

"This project is yet another example of the value that our 3D work brings to our clients planning applications" said Nicholas Polley, MD of 3rd Dimension. "Whilst it wasn't the largest of projects we have worked on, it was extremely important to our client that the 3D image (photomontage) we produced met its objectives in terms of planning. There was concern from the planning authorities, that the filling station signage and its canopy would have a negative impact on the streetscape and neighbouring building, Aldi, which is nearing completion. It was for this reason that we were called upon to produce and accurate and photorealistic photomontage for the proposed development. We made sure to liaise with the project engineers and signage company throughout the project to ensure that we included as much detail as possible in all aspects of the development but in particular, the signage and canopy. The end result is one of a seamless integration of our digital 3D model within the existing photograph."

But despite it being a small scale project for their 3D studio, it didn't come without its share of work. " One of the main problems with a project like this can sometimes be related to what is in the existing photo" says Richard Dalton PM of 3rd Dimension Studios. " In this particular case the existing fencing surrounding the site proved a little tricky to remove. For us to achieve this, it was easier to digitally 3D model the filling station shop which is in fact already constructed. This allowed us to replace the fencing in the photo with the digital 3D model. So what you see in the photomontage is a digital representation of the shop. Effectively the more 3D model there was the more fencing we could remove with less work. However much of the fencing still required removing during our post composition photoshop work on the photomontage. This can sometimes be a little tedious but very satisfying when you see the 'before' and 'after' "

The planning application is in the submission process and judging on what the photomontage has shown, our client is confident of a positive response from the planners.
