ROME - April 22, 2013 - PRLog -- The latest version of In Arrivo has been released to the App Store, becoming the first travel-based social network for Rome, and possibly the world. The update allows travelers to connect for friendship and more by creating social trips. The app still provides a rock-solid route-planning system for getting around the cities of Rome and Milan, and helps travellers with sharing costs.

“For many people, travelling alone may boring or uncertain, not to mention expensive,” explained Fabrizio Bartolomucci, creator of In Arrivo, “the app was already perfect for mapping routes accurately, but with the introduction of social networking capabilities, users can now meet up, make new friends and help each other reach their destinations. As well as providing flawless route planning on the Metro and bus transit systems of Rome and Milan, In Arrivo now allows travelers to plan journeys in advance and share them with other app users. Each journey is created automatically and displayed on a map showing the shortest available route. It is then easy to arrange to meet another In Arrivo user at a specific place and time, making taxi or car sharing simpler, perfect for sharing costs.

Although In Arrivo was originally developed for travel around the Eternal City, the new social tools can be used anywhere in the world to meet new people and make travelling more fun. Users can plan their journeys and connections before they even arrive in Rome, ensuring they enjoy the sights, meet new people and travel around the city worry-free.

Although In Arrivo can be used to plan journeys using buses and the Metro, it is also perfectly suited to visitors who want to see Rome’s sights on foot. As with bus and train journeys, destinations can be plotted in advance and the app automatically creates routes between. Each journey can then be shared with other In Arrivo travelers providing the opportunity to arrange a face-to-face meeting. The journey organiser can see a tally of how many people will be joining them on their trip.
