Chevy Delivers Great Performance With New 2014 Corvette Stingray and Camaro Z28

Cox Chevy looks forward to the arrival of these high-performance models at their Bradenton dealership later this year.

BRADENTON, Fla. - April 19, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2014 model year will be a great time for high-performance drivers shopping at Cox Chevy. The newly redesigned 2014 Corvette Stingray is one of the most highly anticipated vehicles of the season. The redesigned Corvette features a design that looks back to the classic Stingray models of the 1960's with a modern twist. Continuing down Chevy's sport car line, the 2014 Camaro Z28 brings strong performance upgrades to the nameplate, reducing weight and increasing drive-train power. Both models will be available from Cox Chevy in Bradenton (http://www.coxchevy.com/directions-hours/) later this year, an arrival that is making the Suncoast area very excited.

"Like the ’63 Sting Ray, the best Corvettes embodied performance leadership, delivering cutting-edge technologies, breathtaking design and awe-inspiring driving experiences,” said Mark Reuss, President of General Motors North America. “The all-new Corvette goes farther than ever, thanks to today’s advancements in design, technology and engineering."

The 2014 Corvette has been redesigned from head to tail, with an aggressive looking fascia, a streamlined body, and awesome looking tail lights. The new aluminum frame adds 57% more rigidity than the current steel frame, while still knocking off 100 pounds from the curb weight. This means better handling and better fuel economy for the 2014 Corvette.

Chevy has also crafted a new 6.2L Small Block V8 for the 2014 Corvette with more power than the previous 6.2L, and matching power to the 2013 model's 7.0L engine. The Small Block V8 has an estimated power output of 450 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.

Performance is on Chevy's minds, obviously, so the 2014 Camaro Z28 has been specifically engineered for the track. Despite using the Corvette's powerful V8, as well as bigger performance breaks, the Z28 was still able to lose 100 pounds for the sake of faster speeds and better handling.

"We really wanted to try to get rid of some of the mass and make it a real enthusiasts' car to be able to use for spirited driving on the street and open track days," said Mark Stielow, the performance engineering manager for the Z28's development.
