CORONA DEL MAR, Calif. - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – The beginning of this week marked Logo TV’s eleventh episode of the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, “Sugar Ball” airing on Monday April 15, 2013.

“Sugar Ball” features the remaining five contestants competing to become America’s next fabulous drag queen and winner of the grand prize including: a lifetime supply of Colorevolution Cosmetics, a one-of-a-kind trip, courtesy of AlandChuck.Travel, the honor of headlining the drag race tour featuring Absolute Vodka; cocktails perfected, and a “cash money honey” prize of $100,000.

After last week’s elimination, the race is narrowed down to its final four: power trio, Roxxxy, Alaska, and Detox, otherwise known as “Rolaskatoxx” and Jinx. Clearly feeling like the outsider, Jinx hopes this won’t affect her chances of winning, but knows that if the clique gets a chance to turn on her, they will. But before Jinx can dwell on this unfortunate situation too much, Ru bursts in and presents the girls with their mini-challenge, a puppet show “bitch fest”. For this game, each queen must randomly select a boy puppet designed to look like one of her fellow contestants, drag it up, and then put on a show for the others. The cattiness comes out as each girl uses this opportunity to make fun of her puppet’s look-a-like. Alaska’s skit is a clear win with her depiction of Roxxxy’s signature “tearaway” outfits.

Ru then reveals the main challenge of the night called, “Sugar Ball”. In this challenge, the girls must create three candy inspired looks for a run way show: Sweet 16, Sugar Mama Executive Realness and Candy Couture; as well as perform a group dance number with giant lollipops. The materials on display for the girls to use during this challenge are any kid’s dream as they choose from a table piled high with candy. Alaska chooses a cotton candy theme, Jinx picks candy cane, Roxxxy goes with a colorful licorice look, and Detox doesn’t really know how to incorporate candy into her outfits at all. Ru reads Detox’s lack of inspiration as her not caring for the competition, leaving her on thin ice with the person whose opinion matters most.

The queens end up nailing some looks while falling flat on others, but in the end, it is up to Ru and guest judges, legendary diva dresser Bob Mackie and CSI vixen, Marg Helgenberger, to choose the winner of the challenge. With her daring outfits and improved runway act, Alaska takes the cake and is declared winner of the challenge. Needless to say, it’s the two girls who were doomed from the beginning of the episode who end up in the bottom two. With Detox’s lack of caring, and Jinx’s lack of a clique, they end up falling short of the other two’s drag queen prowess and must lip synch for their lives. Both queens dance and shake their hearts out, but it’s Detox whose night goes from sweet to sour as she is eliminated.

In addition to Colorevolution being featured throughout the 5th season of RuPaul's Drag Race; IBG Laboratories, the makers of Colorevolution, is collaborating with RuPaul on specialized private-label items that will be coming in 2013.
