Keynote Speaker Congressman Scott Tipton Inspires and Supports IntelliTec Grads

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Grand Junction, Colorado – U.S. Congressman Scott Tipton took to the stage at the Two River Convention Center in Grand Junction March 23rd to address IntelliTec College graduates. He spoke of the strong educational values he grew up with and emphasized his support of the graduates’ accomplishments as they enter the workforce. Congressman Tipton is in his second term in Washington and is known for his candor with the common person and his/her everyday issues.  

Approximately 800 IntelliTec College graduates and guests attended the graduation ceremony. Graduates received their Associate of Occupational Studies Degree or Certificate of Occupational Proficiency as friends and family looked on in admiration. Keynote speaker Congressman Scott Tipton was later joined on stage by Mayor Bill Pitts.

Grand Junction Campus Director Larry Lipner shared his experience of the event by stating, “It was truly my honor to not only be surrounded by our graduates and their families, but also to introduce the Congressman and the Mayor. The Congressman’s demeanor is so not like your typical regular people politician in any way. He is a down-home man (with whom you) can have a regular conversation with.”

The response to Tipton’s speech was overwhelmingly positive - he was repeatedly interrupted by applause from the crowd. Lipner explained, “The Congressman was chosen to speak because of his past support of the proprietary school sector and his local stature on the Western Slope.”
