Help us make the next episode of Doctors we Know:Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Doctors We Know: Vermont is a collaborative effort between my father and myself. My father and I have always discussed and debated health care reform, and it's impact on our community. As Vermont began to pass legislation seeking improvements in our health care system, we felt that pieces were being overlooked. The big one being, the way care is administered. We felt that the patients were being overlooked and that the opinions of our doctors were not being heard. This film gives doctors the voice that they have been missing.

With contributions from the local community we have financed a twenty-minute episode. Over the last year and a half, we traveled across the state and talked to doctors about the hurdles that they faced in providing the care that their patients needed. It became evident that there is a lot of work to be done.

We have turned to Kickstarter and other fundraisers to make another episode. Our goal is to explore how the health care system in Vermont is working for patients and the people of Vermont. We are seeking to understand how the policies that the Green Mountain Care Board, the legislature, and the governor are going to impact Vermonters. We are going to explore these policies in a historical context.

With your help we want to continue to investigate and document health care reform in Vermont. We are at a tipping point right now and we need to make sure that policy is created with the people of Vermont put first. Help us get this message out, not just to Vermonters, but everyone who wants to fix our health care system.

We appreciate any support we get and the more people who know about health care reform the better it will be for everybody. Vermont is an amazing place and we are trying to do amazing things, but none of us are as strong alone as we are together. The people of Vermont will only become stronger if we can fix our broken system.

The money we raise will be used for equipment to conduct the interviews,  transportation to our interviews, post-production and distribution.
