Kamstrup selected for comprehensive Smart Grid-project in Finland

The Åland Islands in the Baltic Sea have status as an autonomous Swedish-speaking region of Finland, and with the impending roll-out of the comprehensive Omnia-system they have taken a huge step into the Smart Grid-age. ÅEA expects the new system to bring about a positive Smart Grid business case owing to the enhanced meter reading performance that will procure real time data for the sake of invoicing based on hourly meter readings, and furthermore enable grid optimization and a smooth integration of renewable energy sources. Hourly readings

ÅEA’s previous PLC-based AMR-system was unable to meet new demands for hourly readings.
