Drugmaker Taro Pharmaceutical Industries invests 150 thousand dollars in energy efficiency.

Drug maker Taro Pharmaceutical Industries chooses Lightapp technologies as their industrial energy management system of choice. Together they will create energy efficiency procedures resulting in bottom line savings.

ATLANTA - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Taro Pharmaceutical Industries, which develops, manufactures and markets both generic and branded prescription drugs, chose to expend an energy efficiency investment of US$ 150,000. The chosen energy intelligence system, Lightapp, will serve as the core driver of energy efficiency and savings by identifying potential efficiencies and ROI calculations.

For several years now, large consumers of energy have been required to report their energy consumption to the Ministry of Energy. Against this background, Taro began to examine a variety of solution options and chose the system that provides: the highest levels of accurate recording of energy consumption data, easy access to information for all authorized directors, user-friendly graphic presentation of various data, continuous measurement of daily factory consumption, and professional close-monitoring supported by expert assistance. The first phase of the project began in January with the implementation and connection of the system and the extraction and collation and formation of an information database based on consumption from more over a hundred electricity and water meters in the factory. The system recorded information on energy consumption every minute, day and night, weekdays, weekends and holidays. The result of which is that Taro can now receive monitoring reports supported by granular analysis and can therefore undertake decisions based on concrete evidence that will enable them to achieve significant reductions of their power consumption. These reports will serve the overall enterprise management, including energy and infrastructure managers, and further serve to control major electrical engineers and plant engineers. Shimon Ben Chen, Director of Infrastructure at Taro said: "We completed the evaluation phase aimed to monitor and document neatly all the energy consumption data of the plant. Upon implementation of the recommendations of LightApp and continued management and monitoring of effective energy consumption in the factory, I am confident that we will achieve greater efficiency and considerable energy savings".
