PASAY CITY, Philippines - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The Philippine participation in the 28th Hong Kong Houseware Fair seeks to promote and showcase products that use the country’s abundant indigenous materials in sustaining the Philippines’ image as a reliable source of high-quality and design-forward products.

Carrying the brand Home Philippines, which features only the best Philippine-made houseware products, the Philippine participation seeks to reinforce the country’s positioning as the best source for quality home fashion, and gift products. The participation also carries the country’s premier trade fair brand, Manila FAME, for furniture and furnishings, holiday and gifts, and fashion complements.

Led by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export marketing arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Philippine participation aims to promote the country as a preferred sourcing destination as well as showcase sustainable environmentally-sound manufacturing.

CITEM partners with the Foreign Trade Service Corps (FTSC) through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) – Guangzhou and the Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong to further strengthen the country’s participation in the upcoming event.

“Being one of the biggest trade events of its kind in Asia, the Hong Kong Houseware Fair attracts 2,106 exhibitors and 26,769 trade buyers which makes it an ideal platform to showcase Filipino craftsmanship and artisanship in the global trade scene. Furthermore, this event serves as an important gateway to the immense trade opportunities brought about by the rapid growth of Hong Kong and China’s economy over the years,” says CITEM Executive Director Rosvi C. Gaetos.

Best-selling products from the first Philippine participation last April 2012 were wooden trays, multi-purpose decorative containers, decorative jars and vases, decorative accessories made of bone China, lanterns, and candle holders.
