River Expeditions Announces Dates For Their 2013 “Spring Fling” White Water Rafting Weekends

In the spring, the New River is the largest volume Class V white water river in the USA. This exciting trip includes moderate to difficult rapids resulting from high volumes of water pushing through narrow gorges in addition to milder options. Rafters will encounter huge holes, rushing waves and house-size rocks plus extras including “Jump Rock”, “Swimmer’s Rapid” and even ‘surfing’... West Virginia style! These activities are a great way to welcome in the warm summer air, with temperatures averaging 71 degrees in May.

River Expeditions offers rafting trips on the New River daily from April to October. These trips involve navigating a stretch of river on an inflatable raft for about 5-7 hours, including a break for lunch. While there is no experience is necessary on the milder sections of the river, the experienced rafter or adrenaline junkie can still find their thrills in the wilder parts of the New River. The ability to swim is not required because each guest is equipped with a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jack, Paddle, and Helmet.
