Rev. Franck Aguilh is pleased to announce the release of his new book, Haiti, Cries from the Heart: Lamentations of a Son.

In Haiti, Cries from the Heart: Lamentations of a Son, Rev. Aguilh powerfully expresses in poems and in pictures his deepest feelings upon seeing his homeland's conditions for the first time in more than 40 years, following the devastating January 12,2010 earthquake.

From the heart he writes about his nostalgia, his pain, and even his remorse for having stayed away so long. He writes about the enduring beauty of his homeland despite all the challenges. He writes about the resilience of the Haitian people, their daily struggle to survive, the existing rubbles, the cholera epidemic, and the tent cities. He writes about his frustration with the slow progress in improving the existing conditions despite the massive economic assistance promised by the international community, and the presence of thousands of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) in the country for so many years.

"In this book of poems, I express how I feel deep within as I tried to reconnect with my homeland, with my people, with my roots,”" says author, Rev. Franck Aguilh. "And the pictures," he continues, "adds to the poems, the reality that no word can capture." The book is titled Haiti, Cries from the Heart, Lamentations of a Son and Rev. Aguilh believes that it says all that needs to be said.

About The Author:
Rev. Franck Aguilh is a United Methodist Church Ordained Minister who was born in Haiti, where he received his Baccalaureate in Sciences. He came to the United States in 1966. He earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Electrical Engineering and a Master in Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology. After a successful career as a Systems and Telecommunications Engineer, and as a Project Management Professional at Western Union, Lucent Technologies, AT&T, and as a Consultant, he entered Drew University, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree Magna Cum Laude.

He served as Assistant Pastor and Senior Pastor at many churches in central New Jersey. In July 2010, after the January 12 earthquake in Haiti, Rev. Aguilh retired from the pulpit to devote his time and energy to the Haitian situation. He created Haiti Hope House, Inc. a 501c (3) organization whose mission is to help educate Haitian children and train Haitian young adults in marketable skills.
