Sincere Tribute to L. I. Top Chef

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. - April 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Early this week, North Fork Chefs and vineyard owners gathered at Jedediah Hawkins Inn to honor Chef Tom Schaudel's 60th birthday.  The masterminds of the surprise celebration were Executive Chef Lia Fallon of Jedediah Hawkins Inn and Waterscrest Vineyard Owner, Jim Waters. Approximately eighty guest wore bandanas to imitate Chef Schaudel's signature look. Other forms of flattery included a replica birthday cake by Sweet Karma in East Meadow. A far from pot luck dinner was served with dishes provided by some of the North Fork's top chefs,  complimented by wines from local vineyards.  Dozens of North Fork restaurants and wineries were present.  As stated by Chef John Ross of the North Fork Country Club in Cutchogue, "a fitting tribute to a gifted chef and amazing person."

Chef Schaudel's restaurants include aMano in Mattituck, A Lure in Southhold, Coolfish in Syosset, and Jewel in Melville. He is also the Culinary Director of the recently reopened Suffolk Theater in Riverhead.
