Utah Garden Center Owner Featured on Local Weekly TV Show

SALT LAKE CITY - April 17, 2013 - PRLog -- LaRene Bautner, owner of Millcreek Gardens in Salt Lake City, Utah doesn’t keep her green thumb to herself.   With one of the top garden centers in the city, she shares her knowledge and experience in gardening segments each Thursday morning on ABC4’s Good Things Utah.  From April through June and again in September, Bautner will be providing useful information to viewers to help keep their yards gorgeous by featuring such topics as “Spring Planting” or “Patio Beauty with Pots & Containers.”

Viewers can look forward to learning techniques to help their vegetable gardens be healthy and produce more food, tricks on how to keep flowers blossoming longer, what types of soil additives to mix in for various types of plants, and much more. Well known among gardening enthusiasts both in and beyond Utah, LaRene Bautner grew up at Millcreek Gardens. Her parents opened the doors in 1955 and LaRene became the leading executive in 1995.  “They say if you love what you do for a living, it will never be work and I am living proof of that,” she reports.  “I have such enthusiasm to connect people to plants and to show them how to have fun playing with dirt and watching things grow.”

Recognized in 2012 by the Women to Watch program as one of 30, Bautner is exited to give back to the community and takes every opportunity to do so.  Her involvement with ABC4 is just one of the many ways she plays a leading role in turning the high desert of the Salt Lake Valley into a luscious and beautiful place “one garden at a time.”

Under her leadership, Millcreek Gardens has grown from under $1 million to over $3 million in annual sales. She became the sole owner of the nursery just over a year ago and sees a promising future for the business based on her commitment to personalized service to each guest that visits. Her workers never hesitate to ask folks if they need help and to answer any questions they have about the plants they are considering.
