THE SAVING TINY HEARTS SOCIETY ANNOUNCES ITS 8TH ANNUAL GALA EVENT LOCATION AND ALL STAR GUEST LINE-UP

CHICAGO, IL April 16, 2013 – The Saving tiny Hearts Society (StHS) will be holding their 8th Annual Gala on June 1, 2013 at the Swissôtel Chicago (http://www.swissotelchicago.com/).  Since 2006 the StHS has raised over $1,000,000 and funded Twelve (12) research projects across the United States and Canada for grossly under-funded, lifesaving grass roots research of congenital heart defects (CHD's).  CHD’s are the #1 birth defect in America and the world affecting over 1,000,000 babies every year.   The Annual Gala is the organization’s single biggest fundraiser, bringing in over $115,000 annually.  The Gala event is self-funded and gives the organization an opportunity to highlight their Champion Sponsors and recount the events of the year.

The 2013 Gala is appropriately themed, “Take 2”, and will feature tiny Heart Superhero Max Page (little Darth Vader from the Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial in 2011).  Max was slated to tell his remarkable story about his journey through several heart surgeries at the 2012 gala, but had to unexpectedly cancel due to an unplanned heart surgery the week before the event.  StHS is so proud and excited to be able to have Max and his families' participation this year along with several other all-star guests.

Max will be joined by Charles and Jackie Tillman (Chicago Bears), Bret Baier (National Fox News 'Special Report with Bret Baier’), Tom Riles (Audience-Warm up comedian for Ellen Show, X-Factor and other Hollywood Hits) and Paul Cardall (#1 Charting Billboard Musician).  All of these amazing people are proud to be participating in the event and each of them has been directly impacted by Congenital Heart Defects.  As stated by Jessie White, Illinois Secretary of State and proud Grandfather of Susan, born with CHD, “Let’s do something good each and every day and let’s start with these children.  Saving tiny Hearts Society is making a difference in the lives of children in need”.

When asked, “What differentiates Saving tiny Hearts Society from other charities?” Chairman of the Board of Directors and President, Francie Paul answered, ‘StHS has no paid employees.  Our organization and Board of Directors function with only volunteers who share the passion for helping to improve, prolong, and save the lives of children born with Congenital Heart Defects.’

Saving tiny Hearts Society is one of the United States’ most efficient organizations; in 2012 they incurred no accounting fees, operated rent-free and did not pay any salaries as these costs were all provided pro-bono to the StHS.

There are many opportunities to get involved with the Saving tiny Hearts Society 8th Annual Gala.  Brian Paul, who serves as the Director and Vice President of the organization stated, “There are so many people who have been impacted by a Congenital Heart Defect.  All are welcome to attend our Gala.  It is a fun, wonderful, and meaningful event with a live auction, a silent auction, and great food.  Be prepared to be entertained.”  StHS is also looking for donation items for both the live and silent auction and there are sponsorship opportunities ranging from $500 to $25,000.  For more information about how to get involved with this year’s event, please visit https://www.savingtinyhearts.org/events/gala-2013.html.

About Saving tiny Hearts Society:

This seed funding acts as a bridge for this research to millions of dollars of extramural funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) or other outside funding. To date the StHS has raised over a million dollars and funded twelve (12) research projects.
