KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - April 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Jeff VanHoose is the “manhole magician,” but the owner of VANHOOSECO knows that hard work and great customer service — not a magic spell — make a successful business. As it tuns out, this formula worked for his businesses even during a recession.

VANHOOSECO, with decades of experience in concrete construction, manufacturing ready mix and precast production, delivers the highest quality product on schedule and with safety first to the East Tennessee region and beyond.

With $9 million in sales last year, VanHoose is making magic and finding success by taking chances. “I believe that if you take chances, you can get anywhere. If you don’t take risks, you won’t get any reward,” VanHoose said.

“People tell me I’m lucky, but I’m not lucky. I’m blessed, and I think that the harder you work, the luckier you get.”

In fact, during an economic downturn, VanHoose started three of his companies: the pre-cast, mechanical and millwright and pour-in-place divisions of VANHOOSECO.

“I continued to start companies in a down economy and I’ve been successful in that aspect. We’ve experienced a lot of success even in a recession,” VanHoose said.

VANHOOSECO’s years of quality service began in 1996, when Jeff VanHoose founded Pour In Place Inc., and began pouring custom manhole covers. VanHoose quickly became the “manhole magician,” known throughout the region — particularly through his work with utility companies — for taking the most complex projects and completing them safely and quickly.

VANHOOSECO companies’ sales include precast concrete products such as wall panels, slabs, columns and beams and even prefabricated homes, in addition to mechanical and millwork services and pour in place concrete construction. VANHOOSECO has the only central mix plant in the area, and VanHoose invented specialized concrete molds for his pre-cast division that offer his customers unique, top-quality options.

VanHoose is proud to call the 50-employee company a family business. “My employees are part of my success. We have a good group of diverse professionals,” VanHoose said.

“Dad attracts the dream team,” said Genesis VanHoose Schrimsher, Jeff’s daughter and vice president of operations for VANHOOSECO.

Talented employees are only one magic ingredient in VanHoose’s recipe for success — he also places great emphasis on honest bidding, strong relationships in the community and customer service.

“In the precast industry, people love our service. It is second to none. They love working with us. Our customers aren’t just another customer; we treat them like family,” VanHoose said.

“And great customer service is what makes a successful business.”
