Farmington Municipal Schools Leading the Way with Geo-visual Analytic Software

New Mexico District tackling issues like school choice, and resource placement for a highly mobile student population with a breakthrough solution from GuideK12

 
PRLog - Apr. 16, 2013 - Minneapolis, MN -Farmington Municipal schools are blazing a new trail in the state of New Mexico with innovative technology that enables data analysis for the district at a whole new level with   GuideK12, a web-based, geovisual analytic software solution. District leaders sought out an application to save them time and precious resources to support their district’s current and future planning needs.

Farmington Schools Central office, like many other districts around the country, have relied on a single computer and single user to access geographical data within the district, causing delays, and an enormous burden on the system and staff.  Led by Assistant Superintendent of Technology, Assessment, and Accountability, Mr. Robert Emerson, GuideK12 was implemented to enable the administrative team access to data they need for better decisions in less time with a web-based tool. Farmington Municipal schools serve 10,800 students with a wide range of needs, covering a large geographic area, causing additional planning challenges.

Farmington Schools has just completed a middle school redistricting process, and the resulting movement of students is presenting a myriad of challenges for principals in anticipating the needs of their student population for the upcoming school year.  In the past, Farmington Principals have had to wait for reports and data to come from the district office.  With this new system, each will have access to the information they need when they need it.
