By: Starting 48 We first walked in and the decor was amazing from the statues, marble floors, marble tops, elegant seating and lighting. You definitely don't expect this type of decor from a buffet. The staff was friendly, took our drink order and we proceeded to the food area. We went on a Sunday after church and their Sushi selection was very impressive to my wife who is a sushi lover. She gave the sushi a Big thumbs up. I took my son to the hibachi area and he loved picking out what he wanted and how much of each item. There was rice, lo mein, plenty vegetables, chicken, pork, and shrimp. They cooked our order how we liked and the wait staff brought it to our table. We went to the buffet stations where their was a large variety of hot dishes and steam coming off them. They had a seafood station delight with boiled crabs, crawfish and shrimp. They also had a variety of Asian cusine dishes that looked and tasted very good. My daughter loved the dim sum area where the steam dumplings are her favorite. After we stuffed ourselves, they had a great selection of fresh fruit and desserts. My kids enjoyed the frozen yogurt station and the chocolate fountain. We needed a couple of napkins when they were done. They also had a giant salad bar that my wife enjoyed. She likes to be able to make her own salad with fresh produce. She really enjoyed them grilling shrimp to put on top which was all included. I can see why Teppanyaki was voted the best buffet in Baton Rouge. The selection and variety of food is second to none. They prices are very reasonable for any restaurant and even more impressive when it's all you can eat from the sushi, hibachi and buffet stations. I think it will take us a few times to try all the different choices of food they have. If you are looking for a new place to eat in Baton Rouge, you can't go wrong with Teppannyaki.
