WASHINGTON - April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Twenty six years ago, Andy Rudnick launched his very first MatzoBall on Christmas Eve in an effort to bring Jewish singles together and hopefully find a nice Jewish girl along the way. Fortunately for Andy, both of his wishes came true! Today, the father of three, who met his wife Catherine at the Boston MatzoBall in 1997, is not only happily married, but he’s seen the annual MatzoBall holiday soiree grow from one location to over 20 cities nationwide, with thousands of attendees.

“I never anticipated the MatzoBall to become as popular as it did,” explains Rudnick, whose multi-city Christmas Eve gathering has grown to attract singles of all religious backgrounds, ages 21-45. “My initial intention was to plan a party for my Jewish friends so we’d have a place to hang out on Christmas Eve,” he adds. “One friend invited two more, and those two invited their friends, and before I knew it, we had well over 1,500 people; and it evolved from there,” he says. “It’s definitely become a holiday tradition!”

Hoping to start another annual tradition, Rudnick is launching a MatzoBall “spinoff,” called the MatzoBowl. Partnering with Lucky Strike locations throughout the country, the MatzoBowl (just like its predecessor, the MatzoBall) will bring singles together for an unforgettable evening of fun – and the possibility of finding true love.

The MatzoBowl will be held in Washington, DC on Wednesday evening, May 1st, 2013, at Lucky Strike (Gallery Place, 701 7th Street, NW). A portion of proceeds from the evening’s event will be donated to Bowl for the Cure, a year-round fund-raising and breast cancer awareness initiative sponsored by the USBC (United States Bowling Congress); which has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Since 2000, when the initiative was first launched, people nationwide have hit the lanes to raise millions for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and its affiliates.

“We are proud to support Bowl for the Cure,” says Rudnick.“Not only will everyone have a great time at the MatzoBowl, but they will know that they are also helping the fight against breast cancer,” he adds. “With a MatzoBowl in many cities nationwide, I’m confident we’ll make an impact.”

“We’ve created Lucky Strike to be an imaginative, intimate, hospitality-driven environment that appeals to everyone,” said Steven Foster, Founder and CEO of Lucky Strike. “Our success across the country is based on the uniqueness of the experience that we offer to our customers and we are honored to host the 2013 MatzoBowl Tour at Lucky Strike."

Tickets are $30 each for members. For a limited time, membership is free, but you must register at www.matzoball.org. The $30 ticket price includes unlimited bowling, bowling shoes, and an appetizer buffet. The MatzoBowl runs from 8 pm to 1 am. The appetizer buffet begins at 9 pm and runs for an hour. You must be 21+ to attend. Tickets may be purchased on line at matzoball.org or by clicking on MatzoBowl World Tour. For further information, call 561-767-8009.

“Throughout the evening, we’ll have a variety of contests and other interactive activities like speed bowling – our spin on speed dating– which will help break the ice,” said Rudnick, who recalls his days as a single guy looking for love. “Our MatzoBall events have led to over 1000 marriages…who knows what could happen at the MatzoBowl!”
