PRLog - Apr. 15, 2013 - HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Land Rover Hoffman Estates (http://www.landroverhoffman.com/land-rover-dealers-hoffman-estates.htm) watched closely as Land Rover released the biggest indication of a move to upscale for the venerable Range Rover. This is undoubtedly in direct response to the Bentley EXP9 F concept vehicle, which showed up at the Geneva Motor Show last year. Land Rover doesn’t plan to give up the premium SUV market easily though, and with the Bentley set to hit dealerships in 2015, Land Rover will probably come up with a new range topping luxury model.

Land Rover Brand Director John Edwards said in an interview with Auto Express, “In terms of looking up, does the fact Bentley is doing an SUV present us with an opportunity? I think it does.” He went on to add, “The Range Rover is a phenomenal car and I think there is the potential to move it further upmarket. “

Edwards elaborated on the future Land Rover Range Rover (http://www.landroverhoffman.com/2013-range-rover.htm) top model, but did not mention any specifics. He indicated that while it would be possible to add more power to the Range Rover, it wouldn’t be necessary; the Range Rover with the optional supercharged 5.0L V8 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.1 seconds, a more than impressive time for an off-road vehicle.

The new vehicle would be targeted at the very wealthy, who may also consider the Bentley SUV. For reference, the price tag of the current top model, the Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition, can easily run over $200,000 depending on options. Land Rover had only planned to produce around 200 of that vehicle, but ended up selling more than 600. A new upscale model would see a price point higher than that, and probably a more limited production run.

Since power will not be the focus of the new Land Rover, luxury and technology probably will. The Range Rover will probably get even higher quality materials inside, high tech communications features, and improved comfort.

Land Rover Hoffman Estates is a leading Chicago area Land Rover (http://www.landroverhoffman.com/dealership/directions.htm) dealer happy to provide all the latest news to come form the British automaker.
