Alternative Family Legal Service opens in Ripley Derbyshire

RIPLEY, U.K. - April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- A unique new service for people needing  Family Law advice after  the loss of Legal Aid has been launched in Ripley Derbyshire  this week.

People facing a relationship breakdown now have an affordable alternative to visiting a solicitor.  Family Matters Consultancy based in Ripley town centre provides affordable and accessible legal advice and emotional support to men and women facing separation or divorce.

Derbyshire lawyer Amanda Johnson established her business specifically to offer legal advice at a lower price than a typical High Street solicitor and covers separation, divorce, cohabitee issues, children matters and contact or residence issues.

To mark the launch of this new venture, introductory  offers are currently available on Divorce Proceedings and Counselling and Coaching for a limited period.

Amanda says “Legal Aid was established with the Legal Aid and Advice Act 1949 to help people on low pay or benefits have access to a fair and just legal system.  Sadly,  the ending of Legal Aid for most areas of Civil Law,  can leave people with nowhere to turn for legal redress”

“I aim to provide people who are worried about high legal costs with an alternative way of getting the legal help they need at a point in their life when they are most vulnerable” Amanda added.

What makes Amanda’s service unique is the combination of legal advice and emotional support  through counselling and coaching which helps individuals leave a relationship with dignity and a positive attitude.

Working in a women’s refuge recently, Amanda witnessed the trauma involved in domestic abuse and saw how counselling helped clients  deal with  emotions before facing legal and practical issues.  As a result of this experience, Amanda came to care passionately for women who have no other choices open to them other than to go into a refuge, and to consider ways she could help these women in future.
