iceDrops™ are porcelain based cooling shapes that lower the temperature of your drink without diluting it. The iceDrops™ concept advances the beverage accessory market by offering an interesting new option to cool drinks that is not only functional, but also pleasing to the eye. The proprietary recipe of porcelain used was found to be ideal because of its inert, non-porous and thermodynamic properties.
“We came up with the idea of iceDrops™ during a hot summer afternoon at a friend’s cottage”, noted co-founder Jason Post. “We thought there had to be a better way to cool our drinks without diluting them.” he said. “We were aware of soapstone cubes on the market, but we knew we had to improve upon the basic and rudimentary designs by crafting our own interesting shapes. We also wanted to avoid the softness of soapstone, which we felt scratched too easily and imbued a mineral taste.”
There are a number of intriguing designs to choose from on the Kickstarter page. From hearts and flowers to X’s & O’s or even working nuts and bolts, there is a broad range of options to purchase.
In fact, iceDrops™ have a nearly unlimited potential in terms of shape, style and color. The company is planning on expanding its operations in the near future, to allow for more complex designs and shapes.
“There is an incredibly broad market for this concept.” said Post. “We see tremendous opportunities in the retail, gift giving and corporate branding markets.”
