The affair’s keynote speaker will be former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Delaine Eastin. “We are so proud of the work we have done in Bay Area schools to help children succeed and older adults thrive, and we know that support comes at a price,” said Paul Olsen, director of Experience Corps Bay Area. “With budget cuts to school programs and a severe lack of resources at many of the schools we serve, ECBA has set a goal of serving an additional 100 students in the year ahead through funds raised at this event.” ECBA is a school-based program of Aspiranet, a leading social services agency dedicated to supporting foster youth and families in California for the past 37 years. Today, 146 ECBA volunteers serve more than 2,500 students through partnerships in 17 Bay Area schools. ECBA is a results-oriented program that provides extensive pre-service and ongoing training to members, as well as staff support at every site. By working in public schools, members bring their own experiences to life by mentoring and tutoring the next generation.
